ATT/Comcast Price Hike

from a recent article in Michigan:

AT&T Broadband users can expect a sizable rate hike on their February bill, but only if they don’t already subscribe to AT&T Cable.

That has customers who only want AT&T’s high speed internet service upset. The company claims it’s just trying to give consumers more service for less. Around the water cooler at Sagestone Consulting, the talk is about this AT&T Broadband rate increase. “It doesn’t sound fair. It sounds like extortion, it sounds like an armtwist,” voices Mark Jordan who is not affected by the change. He has both AT&T Broadband and AT&T Cable services.

The “price adjustment” as AT&T Broadband refers to it is a roughly a 25% price increase, from $42.95 to $57.95 a month. But there’s a catch. If you add basic cable, Broadband subscribers can keep the old $42.95 rate.
